A look back at the First Franco-German Forum in Metz October 3-4, 2023

On the occasion of the First Franco-German Forum in Metz, the Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ), in partnership with the WTC Metz-Saarbrücken, organized a Franco-German student seminar on Tuesday, October 3. During this preparatory day for the Public Forum on October 4, a group of 22 interdisciplinary French and German students, representing various regions of our 2 countries, met on the premises of WTC Metz-Saarbrücken to work on their vision of the city of tomorrow. They presented their work the following day at the First Franco-German Forum in Metz.
The World Trade Center Metz-Saarbrücken would like to thank the Université de Lorraine, Universität Mainz, Stadt Worms, OFAJ and Inspire Metz for their support and active participation in the organization of this seminar.

On October 4, 2023, the Metz Eurometropole organized the first Metz Franco-German Forum at the Salle Europa in Montigny-Lès-Metz. François Grosdidier, President of Metz Eurometropole and Mayor of Metz, along with Franck Leroy, President of the Grand Est Region, and Sebastian Thul, Saarland's Secretary of State for the Environment and Climate, addressed over 120 participants.
This forum, on the theme of "Cities on Water", highlighted the many advantages of having water in our territories, and the importance of developing river transport. Promoting sustainable and resilient mobility must be a priority.
The Seine-Moselle-Rhône association, the river port of Duisburg and the Comité des Armateurs Fluviaux de France are united in calling for the support of the French 🇫🇷 and German 🇩🇪 governments in the strategic discussions currently underway with the European Union.
This first edition was a real success! 🤝
🗓️ See you at the end of 2024 for a new forum to continue the discussions and strengthen Franco-German cooperation.
