Partnership with

WTC Metz-Saarbrücken has signed a partnership agreement withLa Cité Musicale-Metz to promote the Démos Moselle-Sarre project, which will enable 200 children from Moselle (ages 7–12)to experience symphonic orchestra performance between 2023 and 2026.

Démos is a national project aimed at promoting cultural access, launched in 2010 by the Philharmonie de Paris.

“Since 2016, the Cité musicale-Metz has proudly carried out the DÉMOS project in the Moselle region. More than just a music education program, DÉMOS is a catalyst for empowerment that brings about lasting change in the lives of hundreds of children from underserved neighborhoods and rural areas. At the end of the last cycle, 50% of them chose to continue pursuing music—concrete proof that artistic excellence, when shared, breaks down all forms of social determinism. Today, we are embarking on a new and bold chapter. By integrating two string ensembles from Saarbrücken for the first time, DÉMOS Metz-Moselle is becoming a unique laboratory for cross-border citizenship. In this region at the heart of Europe, music becomes a common language where language barriers persist, building a bridge between cultures and young people.”

Beyond its cross-border nature— which isa priority for the WTC Metz-Saarbrücken’s initiatives and activities —culture is also a driver of significant economic benefits, both in Lorraine and in the Saarland.

As an ambassador for the DEMOS project, WTC MS invitesits members and supporters to provide financial support for this project: you can make a donation of any amount online to support this cultural project on the registration page for upcoming WTC Metz-Saarbrücken events.
