Saarbrücken hosts German Unity Day on October 3!
Celebrated every October 3, Germany's national holiday, "Tag der Deutschen Einheit", symbolizes the political reunification of East and West.
Each year, a different federal city is chosen as the "host" for the most important national celebrations. This year, the city chosen is Saarbrücken!
From Thursday, October 2 to Saturday, October 4, the city center of the Saarbrücken Eurometropolis will be transformed into a place of celebration, with entertainment, art and culture, gastronomy and tourism, as well as democratic exchange, all taking place at the St. Johanner Markt.
At the heart of this civic celebration, the Saarland's regional capital is also inviting visitors to get up close and personal with its economic diversity. The festivities will revolve around several themes:
- The Bürgerfest will feature ministerial pavilions (Economy, Housing, etc.) highlighting energy transition, housing policy and innovation.
- Visit htw saar and other academic institutions will be presenting research projects and technological developments.
- The Länder will present their specific economic and scientific features (e.g. marine research, environmental protection).
- Emmanuel Macron will deliver a speech at the Festakt in Saarbrücken, marking the first time in over 20 years that a foreign head of state has given an official speech on the occasion of German Unity Day.
- Debates and forums will enable the public to exchange views with institutions on themes such as economic transformation, digitalization and territorial cohesion.

PURETE is a device that generates "Ultra Fine Bubbles ", invisible to the naked eye, with a diameter of less than 1 micrometer .
