A look back at the Franco-Italian bUSINESS lunch on June 08, 2023

On June 08, 2023, to mark the BellissiMetz festivities, WTC Metz-Saarbrücken organized a Franco-Italian Business Lunch at the Musée de la Cour d'Or, in an unusual setting steeped in history.

During meals with the flavors of the Bel Paese, our participants discovered Franco-Italian economic and cultural relations, as well as business opportunities in Northern Italy. Cristina Sbaizero, General Manager of WTC Trieste, summarized the commonalities and shared interests between the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia and Grand-Est regions:

"The proximity shared by these two regions and their various attractions have led to collaborations aimed at promoting cross-border tourism and developing joint initiatives to attract visitors from other countries.

These initiatives include marketing campaigns, planned trips and cultural exchange programs.

In addition, the food industry is one of the main areas of interest between north-east Italy and Metz-Saarbrücken. Both regions have strong culinary traditions and are renowned for their local specialties and wine production.

Overall, business relations between northeastern Italy and Metz-Saarbrücken cover a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, tourism and hospitality, food and beverages, and academic cooperation.

All these common interests stimulate economic growth and promote cultural exchanges between the two regions.

The WTC team would once again like to thank the Musée de la Cour d'Or for its warm welcome, not forgetting our 30 participants who contributed to the success of this Business Lunch!

Our warmest thanks also go to our speakers, who kindly shared their expertise and knowledge of Italy: Mr Philippe BRUNELLA, Director and Cultural Manager of the Musée de la Cour d'Or - Eurométropole de Metz, Mr Jean-Luc BOHL, Vice-President of the Eurométropole de Metz and Mayor of Montigny-lès-Metz, Mr Emilio Loli, Consul General of Italy in Metz, Mrs Cristina Sbaizero, General Manager of WTC Trieste and Mrs Adeline PURIERE-PUNZI, Head of the Engineering Department for Investment Projects of the Grand Est Region.
